What a FUTMINNA Fresher Pays When Tuition Is Free
Tuition is free for Nigerian students, yet the fresher schedule still totals N61,200 across eighteen separate charges. Maintenance of facilities and the development levy account for N10,000 each, the two heaviest lines on the list.
Returning students drop to N28,200, a saving of N33,000. Most of that comes from items charged once, including the N5,000 caution deposit, N5,000 entry verification, N500 campus map and the N1,000 academic gown.
The N20,000 acceptance fee applies to every new intake in Nigeria and abroad, taking a first-year total to N81,200. Foreign students add $750 in tuition on top of the same naira charges.
Several departmental extras sit outside both tables. SWEP participants pay N5,000, field trips cost N5,000 or N10,000 depending on department, and hostel accommodation is arranged separately through the managers rather than billed here.
